Fall. It’s the New Summer.

Happy first day of fall! I wrote this haiku to celebrate:

Heat on in my car
I shouldn’t have worn a skirt
I want to eat soup

Now. It’s your turn.
I will personally make and deliver (or express mail) a plateful of my favorite homemade caramel brownies to the best fall haiku submitted in the comments. Trust me, these brownies are worth it. And for that matter, haikus are worth it. Write one. It will make your day better.

The rules: Write a haiku (5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables) about fall. Multiple entries  are not only permitted but also enthusiastically high-fived. Submit it in the comments by Sunday, September 25 at noon. Winner will be announced the next day.

Happy Haiku-ing and Happy Autumnal Equinox Day!

    Here goes mine:

    crisp morning, bright blue
red, brown, gold fall and crunching
    beneath my worn sole.
