This cold weather snap has me craving warm, comfort foods!
First up today is something totally unhealthy but totally appropriate for mourning the passing of autumn:
Crispy Potato Mojos from Pinch of Yum
(new to this blog and LOVING it. Really, you should read it for days on end like I have.)
Next something a little more healthy to balance things out…
Sweet Potato, Swiss Chard, and Toor Dal (Yellow Split Pea) Soup from Cheap, Healthy, Good
The list of ingredients is a little long, but most of it should be in your pantry…this one’s a good germ-fighter with lots of garlic and ginger!
And then, let’s pendulum swing back to the indulgent side of things…
Fresh Fruit Sugar Cookie Crisp from Frugal Foodie Family
(You can see that this image has strawberries, which are totally not in season and would be terrible right now. But I’m thinking I’m going to try this with apples tomorrow; seems like a pretty adaptable recipe!)
Enjoy!

Thanks for the shout out!
Of course! Just subscribed to your blog! Love the recipes and photography…and that you are cooking for a family FRUGALLY!
Love Lindsay’s blog — you know she’s a Minnesotan, right? :) The sugar cookie crisp would be awesome with the frozen tart cherries we brought back from Michigan this summer!
We just found her blog, and hooray for Minnesotans living abroad, volunteering!
