…for getting to know one another.
We brought Elsa home a little over two weeks ago, and I feel like our time together is best summed up by this attempt at a family picture: mostly happy, but a little blurry and unfocused.
This little lady sleeps like a dream and is for the most part, at peace with the world. Super easy going thus far – clearly her father’s daughter.
Owen’s adjustment to this new member of our family has been mostly good as well…
…marked by a few emotional outbursts over things like not being able to find that ‘nother guy or the green circle…which could also be because he’s almost two.
We spend a lot of time doing this…
And because it never gets above 0* anymore, we stay inside for days at a time, trying not to go stir crazy.
A parade of family is coming and going, for which we are incredibly grateful. Elsa shares a middle name with my mom – Ruth – and not just because my mom came and did every dish and piece of laundry and fed us for a week.
Elsa Ruth celebrates this woman who has taught me more about peace and wisdom and unconditional love than perhaps any other person has.
We are slowly getting less blurry as the days go on, finding little bits of routine to feed my structure-loving soul. We’ll be back in a few days with the next post in our Make-Ahead, Freezer-Friendly Meals series!
