‘Tis the Season…

…for another baby.

That’s right. We’re so excited to be expecting another baby January 25th – the day before my own birthday. Presently, that puts me at fifteen weeks along and happily well out of the nauseous hole that was my first trimester.

We’re not totally sure how to refer to this second baby. We’ve kicked around the idea of Duge (DOO-gay) - the Korean word for “two.” But all I picture when I hear the moniker Duge is a stubble-faced thirteen year old playing video games and eating Doritos. Not exactly fetus material.

pregnant-3 I didn’t show with Owen until like halfway through the pregnancy. But this baby eagerly made itself visible around six weeks, forcing me to alternate wearing the two baggy shirts I own for the last two months in an attempt to hide the bump.  Despite the early bump, Owen is and has been blissfully unaware of the attention-stealing babytrain heading his way. But we know. And now you do too.

  1. How exciting! Congratulations! I’ve been thinking lately about being pregnant again – I know I want one more biological baby (if I have any say in it) but the whole morning sickness with a toddler kind of scares me. You look great momma!

    • Thanks, Heather! I’m not going to lie, chasing a very mobile Owen around while feeling seasick all day has not been awesome. I think you’d like this post; the third paragraph under point #1 pretty much sums it up for me! :)

  2. Congratulations! I love your little bump! I too didn’t show until the last 2 months. But those last two months, YOU knew I was pregnant!! LOL! Your new “bump” is so cute!

  3. You have an extraordinarily adorable baby bump. Congratulations, again! I’m hoping, perhaps, that labour can be put on hiatus, or happen on a day other than your birthday; having your water break in the gelid January weather will be enough excitement for the day, you don’t need to add a birthday.

    • Too true! My mom was in labor with my brother on her birthday…I’ll have to ask her how she felt about that in the long run :) But I agree – babies + labor + snow is a little daunting in and of itself!
